Be the first to access a mapping of your organization and your portfolio via New Power Labs.

Canada is not unlocking the economic potential of its diversity.

Our society’s growing inequality and systemic discrimination have disproportionate impacts on Indigenous Peoples, communities of colour, women, and other overlooked and underserved communities. Inequity and systemic discrimination is limiting our innovation, prosperity, and impact.

There are major, but invisible disparities in how capital flows and who gets funded. Moving beyond good intentions, we can shift how our capital flows and who participates — working purposefully and collaboratively to address gaps.

Data about the people who deploys capital, and who receives capital, is incomplete and limited — it is still far too difficult to assess our progress on equity over time.

Join our People & Capital Data Partnership!

We will work with you to collect quality disaggregated diversity data that helps you understand your organization, and your portfolio of grantees and investees. The data and insights will help you flow capital more equitably, expanding your impact and contribution to solving Canada’s challenges.

WHY DISAGGREGATED DATA?

Disaggregated data breaks compiled information into more diminutive units to explain underlying trends and patterns. It provides us with sub-categories of details, such as ethnicity, gender, education, etc.

By collecting more granular data, we can better understand the challenges and barriers that specific groups (e.g., women, Indigenous communities) face.

Many organizations rely on crude, visual ways to identify their team’s demographics, which can be misleading and do not capture non-visible attributes (e.g., disability, sexual orientation). This can obscure internal challenges or opportunities to improve equity, diversity and inclusion.

We will collect self-reported disaggregated demographic data from team members of capital deployers and recipients on:
